Critter Details

Name: Evinrude Nicknames: Rudy, Bubba, Bubs Age or Date of Birth: 2 going on 3 years old, November 5, 2021 Activity Level: I need a little time to stretch my legs, but I am happy to lounge otherwise. I am also a pro-snuggler and love to share warmth. Things I do in my free time: I like to bring you toys so that we can play tug! I go crazy for playing ball! I am a sun dog, so basking in the summer sun is definitely a favorite pastime. I also love laying with my people – especially as the weather starts turning chilly. Things I know: Sit, stay, mat, Place (crate), touch, recall – if it was in basic obedience, I know it! I also wait patiently for my meals. Things I am learning/currently working on: I am practicing my leash manners – sometimes I get so excited when I show up to new place, that I forget that not everyone wants to meet me like I want to meet them! I do a pretty good job of remembering when I am on walks, or somewhere I have been before. I am also mastering dog puzzles because I am so dang smart. Who I currently live with (humans and animals): Two adult humans and an older dog sister How I do with kids: I love meeting kids! They don’t need my constant attention, but I do like to check in with a kiss here and there. How I do with dogs: So this is where I get a little tricky. I have lived with another female dog since I was a puppy but lately I feel the need to protect certain things like a food bag, my ball, and my mom. However, I really like other dogs in general… I just have my moments. So living with another dog isn't a great idea unless you are willing to work with me on this but I would enjoy walking with another dog friend on leash where my humans have control at all times.  How I do with cats: I have no experience with cats, so I don’t know! (same issue will likely come into play as with other dogs)  My current size: 55 pounds How I do in my kennel: Fantastic! I am kenneled at night time and during the day while mom is working, and have no problems going into or staying in my kennel. How I do in car rides: They can be a little concerning at first, especially if it has been a minute since my last ride, but once we get going I settle down pretty well. Am I house trained?: Yes! I am very good about keeping to my schedule, and have no problem reminding you if it has been too long or that I have been especially well-hydrated Additional Info from foster: It would be best if I have a family that has very clear boundaries with me. I am a people pleaser, but sometimes my own instinct can get in my way of listening. I have such a big heart, and the sweetest Pitty smile. I love sweaters and blankets in this Minnesota climate, because I barely have any fur of my own!
