Shared walls: not suitable Other: separation anxiety needs someone home with him Special needs – eats a prescription diet to keep his belly happy. Overview Rutker is a sweet and affectionate companion. He warms up quickly to all that show him love and affection. Rutker will be 12 in January but does not look it or act it. He loves his walks and will follow his nose when he finds the scent of a chipmunk or squirrel, so a good hold on his leash is important. He’s a tiny guy – 12.6 lbs. with a beautiful smooth black and tan coat. Foster Cathy says: “Rutker is an absolute treasure to be around. He has lots of love to give and is deserving of lots of love in return.” Environment Rutker is house trained and only had a few accidents when he first got to his foster home. He sleeps next to his humans and will sleep for as long as you do. In the same vein, he enjoys companionship and would thrive in a home where he's not left alone for long periods or at all. He will bark and cry when left alone. A home with shared walls would not work for this boy. Pets & People He lived in a home with other dogs and gets along well with his current foster brother. Rutker is very chill when it comes to food, toys, and sharing. Rutker may bark at strangers he meets but is always friendly when he gets up close to them. Location Rutker is available for adoption from Southbury, CT and is good in the car. However, we would like to see this boy adopted to someone in the Tri-State or New England areas. Please email cathyn@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Rutker is $250.00.
