Meet Sage! Sage is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, possible Labrador or Golden Retriever, with a calm presence, soft eyes, and a heart as big as her 70-pound frame (though she should ideally be closer to 80 pounds). While Sage has the classic loyalty and confidence of her breed, she is not a working dog. She is a true family companion who enjoys being indoors with her people. That said, like many Anatolian mixes, she does enjoy spending time outside and appreciates a home with space to stretch her legs and enjoy fresh air. Sage does great with children and is both crate trained and house trained. She gets along well with other dogs and carries a natural, calm leader energy. She currently lives peacefully with a female Great Pyrenees and has had no issues with chickens, but she is not cat friendly. Though Sage has energy appropriate for her age, she is also able to relax nicely in the home and settles well with her family. She brings a steady, grounding presence and would thrive with a family looking for a loyal shadow, a gentle cuddle buddy, and a dog who wants companionship more than a job. If you’re looking for a devoted, calm, and loving family dog wrapped in a big, beautiful package, Sage may be the perfect match. Ready to give Sage the home she deserves? Come meet her — she’s waiting to be your calm and constant friend If you are interested in adopting Sage, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
