Ever heard a purr that sounds like a steaming teapot? You will once you meet Sampson. In contrast, he has a silent meow, so he’ll never disturb the neighbors. Among his other fabulous qualities are his gentle nature and his social skills. Sampson doesn’t bite or scratch even if you tried. He enjoys his belly being rubbed and barely flinches getting his nails trimmed. He quietly but confidently takes to anyone new he meets (and therefore not the best home security system). He’s such an innocent sweetheart. Likewise, Sampson is a certified lap expert – emphasis on the expert. He would be great with an adopter who understands the value of a good cuddle. How he really turns his charm on though is when he curls on top of you with his tongue sticking out, while simultaneously serenading you with his lively purr. He also loves to nuzzle his face against yours. On a bad day, you can always look forward to Sampson’s affection and listening skills. This little buddy has skin allergies and chronic congestion. We’ve found a few things that help reduce his symptoms, such as allergy-friendly food and a tiny pill he doesn’t even realize he’s taking. His adopter would need to monitor him for any worsening of his symptoms in case he needs additional vet visits. Honestly, his mild congestion only adds to his endearment. Sampson also tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), meaning his immune system is a little weaker than normal. Cats with FIV can live a completely normal and healthy life and can live with cats that do not have FIV and it is not transmissible to humans. Other cats? Kids? He’s too polite to start drama. Sampson has been around other cats before and while we’ve noticed he’s more affectionate and playful as an only child, he barely acknowledged the other cats’ existence and minded his own business. If you’re looking for a calm, soft-hearted cat with a purr that will make you laugh every time, Sampson is your guy. Age: 4 Years, 6 months  Animal ID#: A179660 Location: Foster Care  Please email hessej2@gmail.com to learn more about this kitty! **FIV is specific to the feline species, and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. It is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting.
