See Sandy’s HomepageGo to our official websiteHi!  My name is Sandy and they think I am a 2 yr old lab/hound mix.  I came up to Illinois from KY recently and I was pretty overwhelmed at first as my whole world was turned upside down.  I was scared of the leash and I wasn't sure about all of the new people, sounds and smells, but everyone took it really slow with me and gave me my space.  That's all I needed to blossom!  And…I love walking with a harness!   Once I realized the new people were really nice and let me go at my own pace, I decided to lean in for pets and enjoy being loved on. I just needed to go slow. The best things are worth waiting for ya know!! And they say I am THE BEST girl!   My foster family said I am a couch hog and I loved snuggling up! I think I would enjoy a home without the activity of small children.  I would love a family who would enjoy my calm, and sometimes reserved-at-first, nature.  Who wants a dog who will jump all over your guests anyway?!?  I am a well-mannered young lady and I cannot wait to meet my new family.  I promise I will love you with my whole heart if you will give me the patience I need. The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process – we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
