Scarlett is VERY sweet and mildmannered. She is currently on a weight loss program and doing very well. Her bloodwork looks great and she just had a full dental. This sweet girl is a bit shy initially but once she settles in she loves to be brushed and is a lovely companion. 2024: Scarlett, formerly Calla, is a chubby 6 year old spayed female in need of a new home after the loss of her beloved caretaker. Scarlett has been through a lot of changes recently and now needs a loving new home. Although she previously lived with several other cats in the past, her family thinks that she may also enjoy being an only cat where she can be your one and only. My story: My name is Scarlett. I was born in a feral colony 5 years ago. I was rescued when I was a kitten. I was adopted by my human mom and brought to her home where I lived peacefully with four “”brothers.” My human mom was wonderful. She fed us, gave us toys to play with, cat treats to climb and windows to look at to see squirrel tv. She also showered us with unconditional and lavish love. One day things changed. Our human mom slept a lot and when she wasn’t sleeping she was resting in her recliner. Her daughters started spending a lot of time with us and when they were not there people called Brother’s, sisters, cousins and friends came to stay with us. Our wonderful home because very confusing and scary. One day things got very strange. Human mom wasn’t there and the sisters, brother, cousins and friends were there. They were wearing dark clothing, hugging each other, making funny noises and their eyes were leaking. I never saw my human mom again. Then one of the cousins packed me up and took me from my home and brought me to Arlington VA. She is very nice. She feeds me, scratches my back (I really love it when she uses the wire brush because I have an under coat that needs to be combed out), rubs my tummy and other things I like. I have been getting used to her and coming to love her. I wish I could say the same thing about my step-sister. We just don’t get along. Cousin says things between us are getting worse not better. Step-sister is very anxious and we fight a lot. Cousin says I should be able to fit in because I had Brother’s but something just doesn’t work. So I need a new place to go, maybe forever or maybe for an interminable time while my forever home and human are located. Are you the person who can help me? Calla is one of 3 kittens found in Lancaster Pa. Her siblings, Lily and Tiger, were trapped together and transferred to The Cat Shack for foster care, socialization and rehoming. Calla, was trapped a few days later and is now in foster care with her siblings. The mother cat will be TNR’d when she is trapped as well. Calla has been tested (neg for FIV/Felv), dewormed, spayed, and is up to date on all vaccinations, including Rabies. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, ‘special-needs’ cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
