He doesn’t always remember to use the potty pad if he needs to go inside.  Scotch is also becoming more comfortable with his crate. He still doesn’t love being away from his people but quiets down on his own better each time. As of today, he’s gone a couple nights without needing a middle&#226&#128&#145of&#226&#128&#145the&#226&#128&#145night potty break and has had no accidents. Such a big milestone for this little guy. He’s met new people, including kids, and greeted everyone with his usual happy curiosity. At a recent PetSmart adoption event he was eager to explore and meet everyone! He met lots of people, puppies, and adult dogs and handled it all like a total rockstar. Scotch is more mischievous than his littermate and does require supervision as he is finding more things in the house he can reach to chew on. Redirecting with toys and making sure things he can ruin are out of reach is key!  Scotch is such a handsome, cuddly , and lovable pup. He is going to make an incredible companion for a very lucky family. 3/8/26 Foster Feedback: After one week with us, Scotch is making great progress and his personality is shining through!  Scotch is brave, playful and affectionate. He appears to be smart and is already beginning to pick up the “sit” command, which shows he is responding well to early training. Crate training has been improving each night. Scotch has started going into the kennel on his own at bedtime, and there have been three nights with no whining when the crate is initially covered and closed.  He is more vocal and less independent about being separated from people than his littermate.  If his cries aren’t urgent I can simply sticky my hand in the kennel and he quickly settles. Overall, the stretches of sleep are getting longer each night, indicating that Scotch is adapting to the routine. Scotch is also making  progress with potty training. He willingly goes outside multiple times a day and is having fewer accidents in the house. He also picked up on using potty pads very quickly for times when he can’t make it outside in time. Scotch loves to be near people and our resident dogs(small breeds).  He loves to play play play. He is a very happy, curious boy who will make a wonderful companion!    3/3/2026 Foster Feedback: Meet Our Brave Little Explorer Scotch!  At just 8 weeks old, this sweet boy is already showing off his big personality! In the three short days he’s been with us, he’s proven himself to be a brave explorer with a curious spirit and a heart full of love. So far he’s only shown friendly curiosity meeting the resident dogs, another older puppy foster, adults and kids.  Scotch is incredibly cuddly and affectionate! He’s the kind of puppy who will happily snuggle up after playtime and soak up all the love you’re willing to give. He’s playful, inquisitive, and always ready for a little adventure around the house. Scotch loves hidey holes and cozy burrowing spots. You’ll often find him tucked under the couch, behind tables, or nestled into any snug little space he can find. Tight spaces make him feel safe and comfy! Scotch is currently working on potty training. At first, he was hesitant about going outside, but after just a couple of days, he’s already gained confidence and now follows the other dogs out without needing to be carried. He’s also learning to aim for puppy pads.  Crate training is a work in progress, and like many young puppies, he has a little separation anxiety. He’ll thrive with a patient family committed to building his confidence and establishing a consistent routine. As a typical puppy, Scotch will need continued training, structure, and lots of positive reinforcement, but with his loving nature and brave personality, he’s sure to grow into an amazing companion. And judging by those paws, he’s likely going to be a big boy! If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate cuddle buddy who will grow up to be your loyal best friend, this brave little explorer might be your perfect match!
