When Scrat came to TJO he was excited to meet everyone, and made sure we knew it. This wiggly, excited, boy can’t wait to sniff all the things and find all the squeaky toys! He is looking for a home that will keep him flush with toys and the occasional acorn to wedge into an iceberg.OTHER PETS: Scrat is an outgoing dog who is so excited to meet other dogs he barrels over to them head first. He will need support from his owner while learning how to greet dogs appropriately (positive reinforcement training will help with this) but would likely do well with any friendly, tolerant dog. Scrat should meet any dogs he would be living with to ensure a good fit prior to adoption. No cats as he thinks they are toys for him.[Likely (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: [First Dog] KIDS: Scrat is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable with handling; he would likely get along well with humans of all sizes. As with all our dogs, Scrat should meet any minor humans he would be living with prior to adoption.[Likely (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Scrat has a good amount of energy and enjoys playing ‘catch me if you can.’ Daily walks would be a great way for him to get exercise as well as an opportunity to explore the world around him. He enjoys playing fetch with squeaky toys, supervised playtime outside would also be fun for him. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Scrat bond with his new owner in addition to mastering basic cues and skills. He will need support from his owner while learning to greet other dogs. [Moderate] GROOMING: [Minimal]
