Meet Simone! This gorgeous mini Aussie girl (18 lbs) was found as a stray running in rural SC. She was taken in by a local family who searched for her owner but had no luck. She was not spayed or microchipped, so whoever had her was not acting responsibly with her care. Because of the family who found her and took her in, this pretty pup is now fully vetted and protected from unwanted pregnancies and is ready to start her new life. Simone is now in a foster home as an only dog but has proven to have good doggie social skills when meeting other pups in the neighborhood. She also has wonderful house manners — she’s housetrained, crate-trained, and quiet in the home. Her foster mom walks her for potty breaks a few times a day and she is very comfortable on leash and does well meeting the neighbors and their dogs. She’s a few pounds overweight so we hope to find a family committed to her daily exercise and trimming her down a pound or two. Her foster mom, Anne, describes Simone as a fantastic dog. She’s a very sweet girl with a laidback personality and always happy with her tail wagging. She loves being near her people and is comfortable being cuddled and groomed. She sits still for baths and likes having her beautiful flowy coat blowdried. We've found that she’s not a big fan of kibble and may have been fed people food in her prior life. She loves cheese, pork, and beef and will gladly sit for soft dog treats. She’s eating kibble as her main meal, but is definitely selective….who can blame her? Overall, Simone is a confident, snuggly, and happy pup who will make an excellent family dog. She would be fine as an only dog or part of a pack. She will be coming to the DC metro area in early September, so apply today to welcome her home.
