Irresistible! Meet Sinatra, a sweet gentle hound mix, rescued with his three siblings from an outside small kennel. You can understand why he is a bit shy at first, but then he warms up and is so sweet. He has an adorable face, too. Just look at his ears, brown eyes, and black nose. He is 8 months old and weighs 44 pounds. He has a short tan and white coat. He will probably be in the medium range (up to 60 pounds) when fully grown. He gets along fine with children and adults, as well as the dogs. He has not interacted with a cat since coming into rescue. Hounds come in a variety of types. But their personalities can be similar as they are known to be inquisitive, friendly, and intelligent. They are often lively dogs with plenty of energy, as well as being agile and of course, greattrackers when using their sense of smell. As to training, Sinatra is learning his crate, house, and leash skills. He will need an owner that can provide the right guidance mixed with consistency, repetition, and patience. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping him master those daily routines.Daily short walks (30 minutes max) will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. He cannot become a running companion untilhe is at least a year old. At that point his growth plate will close. At home he will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of attention, activities, and play toys. That will help keep him from being bored. A secure back yard will give him free time to play and burn off extra energy.Sinatra is more than ready to being his happily ever after.
