He came to us as a local owner surrender when his owner realized he needed more care than they could provide. When Stanley arrived, he was heartbreakingly underweight and battling skin, ear, and eye infections — including double cherry eye. His eyes had been neglected for so long that he lost a bit of his vision. But oh, how far he’s come! With love and medical care, Stanley has gone from zero to hero in his foster home. His infections have cleared, his weight is healthy, and his spirit shines bright. He’ll need ongoing eye care — gentle wipes and drops several times a day — and a fish&#226&#128&#145based diet to keep his skin happy. Stanley is now crate trained, housetrained, and learning to walk confidently on a leash. He can still be a little hesitant, likely due to his limited sight, but he’s making steady progress. He loves to play with other dogs (bulldog&#226&#128&#145style, so it can get rowdy!) and entertains himself with chewies and toys. He’s a people&#226&#128&#145lover through and through — especially fond of men — and he’s perfectly fine with the foster cats. His foster mom works from home, so Stanley gets plenty of outdoor time, which he adores. His favorite outings? Car rides and hanging out at the local brewery! Stanley may always need a bit of extra care for his eyes and skin, but he’s a happy, affectionate boy who deserves the kind of love and attention he’s finally found.
