Just one look at Sully’s big blocky head and squishy face is enough to make you smile—but trust us, it’s his personality that will truly steal your heart. Sully is the definition of a gentle soul. He’s affectionate, easygoing, and forms deep connections with the people he loves. If you’re sitting down, don’t be surprised if Sully slowly inches his way into your personal space, flops over for belly rubs, or leans in for as much affection as you’ll give him. Being close to his people is one of his favorite things, and his sweet, loving nature makes every day a little brighter. Because Sully builds such strong bonds, we do anticipate he may experience some separation anxiety as he settles into a new home. While we haven’t seen significant signs of this in the shelter, setting him up for success with positive experiences, gentle guidance, and a consistent routine will help him feel more comfortable as he adjusts. Sully also comes with wonderful manners. He appears to be potty trained, keeps his kennel nice and clean, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows the cues sit and down. He’s the kind of dog who’s just as happy joining you for a relaxing walk as he is curling up nearby for some quality time together. Around other dogs, Sully has shown a friendly, easygoing demeanor. He generally prefers to mind his own business but can become overwhelmed by dogs that are especially energetic or pushy. Slow, thoughtful introductions will help set everyone up for success, and we’re always happy to provide a dog meet and greet prior to adoption if needed. Sully truly is the complete package. From his happy little trots to his endless cuddles, he has a way of making every day feel a little lighter.
