See TARTAN’s HomepageGo to our official websiteYou can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TARTAN hails from the White Sands Community in Northern Ontario and he came south with his brother (Tweed) to find a loving family. He’s had his first 2 sets of vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. We have no knowledge on his parents so we don’t know what other breeds are mixed in him but there’s definitely something other than a Shepherd. We also have no idea on the size he’ll grow to be as the weight we have noted is just a guess. He’s a loving, energetic little guy who’s curious about everything around him. TARTAN’s crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also take naps in it during the day. He’s an active guy who loves to run around and chase his brother especially if he has a toy in his mouth. He’ll play for hours with his toys and chase balls around the floor. He loves his treats and it’s been easy to do some basic training with them too. He should do well with another dog in the home as he has met a few and got along with them all. TARTAN would like an active family who’ll take him on big walks, hikes and seeing as he travels well in a car, he’d always be up for an adventure or two. He hasn’t met a cat but if there’s a cat savvy dog in the home then he should do well with them provided a slow, monitored introduction is done and while the dog is leashed. Children should be aged 6 and up and be loving, gentle and caring towards animals. He has to have a fenced yard to keep him safe and he can safely run around and play. Puppies are fun and cute but also require a lot of work, patience and dedication to training. We need his adopter to be in agreement to sign him up for obedience/puppy training. His neuter is included in the adoption fee and as per our rescue agreement, it has to be done before he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs, whichever comes first. The neuter can be done at your own vets office but it still has to be within our age/weight requirements. If TARTAN sounds like he’d fit into your home then please submit an adoption application to meet him.
