She and her sister were found living on the streets in heartbreaking, neglected condition. Despite everything she's been through, Tawny has remained an incredibly sweet, gentle dog. She is truly the definition of a perfect companion—house-trained, great in the car, easy on a leash, calm, quiet, and wonderful with people, kids, and other dogs. Tawny loves being close to her people and is happiest curled up in a comfy spot. Her only flaw? She does not like cats and will absolutely chase them, so she needs a cat-free home. Tawny is currently being treated for Chagas disease. She has had extensive veterinary testing, including comprehensive bloodwork and an echocardiogram, with results showing everything within normal limits. She does have a Grade III/VI heart murmur and recently developed focal seizures, both of which are being managed with veterinary care and medication. Tawny is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. The adoption fee for Tawny is $450. To apply, please visit www.adoggie4you.org. Tawny is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Unfortunately, we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.
