Here is Tilly!! This sweet little mare has had an amazing transformation since she has come here to SPCA Monterey County. When first arriving in May of 2023 she was terrified of people and in great need of some TLC. During those first few months we showered her with tons of human kindness and good nutrition which helped her outward appearance, but she still needed some work overcoming her fear of people. We sent her to a patient and wonderful trainer who quickly broke through to Tilly and showed her that people deliver wonderful pets and scratches. Tilly is now easy to handle and catch. She is good to trailer and is getting a lot more comfortable with the farrier.  We have discovered that Tilly is quite unique. Her ancestral DNA showed that she is a Percheron, Welsh Pony, and Morgan cross. Standing at just around 14 hands Tilly is technically a pony. She is up to date on vaccines, dental, farrier care and de-worming. Do you think Tilly could be your next equine partner?
