We are so proud and excited to introduce to the adoption world our special Beagle girl named Tinker. This 4-year-old, 26 lbs. precious soul formerly lived with a very senior woman and 4 other Beagles. We don’t know much about that life except that as the woman aged she turned the Beagles over to her son who did not care properly for any of them. When the elderly woman was being taken to a nursing home, the son dropped all five of the Beagles off on the doorstep of a vet. All five Beagles were crammed into one small crate. They were covered, literally infested, with fleas and you can see the result from the hair loss on Tinker’s back. You can only imagine how miserable and no telling how long this had gone on for these poor dogs. She is now spayed and bathed and fleas are gone and antibiotics are being given to help clear the skin so that fresh new beautiful hair can grow back. She came to us so frightened and shy but within a day or two she has relaxed, learned to smile and claimed her spot as she sleeps at the feet of her foster dad while he works from home, or lays on his chest while he watches TV or falls asleep together. She seems to be especially partial to the man of the house and very open to the friendships of the other dogs. She loves to stick her nose underneath covers and roll on her back as she feels the softness of a blanket. We really don’t want to think about the harsh life she’s had previously. We only know that this well-trained little girl has surprised us all with a delightful and infectious joy for the simple things that she now receives in her foster home. We are looking for that forever home and that forever love who offers unconditional acceptance from a family. We know many someone special will appreciate her delightful Beagle personality. She is sweet beyond words, and has the pensive personality of an ‘old soul’. She has a look in her eyes that makes you want to pull her close as you kiss the top of her head and tell her it will be okay for the rest of her life. Could that be you that hugs her tightly and tells her she is loved? If you want to help Tinker on the next chapter and journey in her life to good things, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.
