Meet Topaz!Topaz is a handsome Scott American Bulldog, born March 27, 2021, with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and quite possibly the most convincing little frowny face you’ve ever seen.Topaz knows exactly what he likes in life: his people, his snacks, a good walk, a car ride with nowhere particular to be, and a nice patch of grass to roll around in. Seriously, rolling in the grass is Topaz’s golden hour. Give this boy some sunshine, a soft lawn, and a few minutes to wiggle around on his back, and life is GOOD.He’s also very treat motivated—and he takes his snack schedule rather seriously. This comes in handy because Topaz is incredibly smart and eager to please. He knows sit, stay, down, shake, and kennel, and he’s completely housetrained. Just be warned: when that ridiculously adorable frowny face comes out and he starts suggesting that perhaps he hasn’t eaten in several weeks, stay strong. He has, in fact, eaten. Probably recently.Topaz absolutely loves his walks and does well on leash, but he’s also a big, strong guy who can put some muscle behind it when another person or dog catches his attention. His future person should be comfortable handling a powerful dog and physically able to keep him close and secure when the world gets a little more interesting. With someone confident on the other end of the leash, Topaz is more than happy to get out there and enjoy his adventures.Topaz is a guy who prefers to be the main character in his own home. He’d love an adult-only household with no kids, where he can soak up all the attention without having to share the spotlight with another dog. An only-dog home is preferred for this handsome attention hog—and honestly, Topaz sees absolutely no problem with that arrangement. His perfect life isn’t complicated. He’s thinking walks with his person, leisurely car rides, rolling in the grass, snacks at appropriate (and occasionally Topaz-declared) intervals, quiet evenings on the patio, and plenty of couch or bed space for snuggling at the end of the day. He’s very affectionate once he knows you, and there’s nothing he loves more than settling in beside his person for a little Netflix after a busy day of being Topaz. There is one thing his future family needs to understand: Topaz takes relationships seriously. Experiences when he was younger taught him to be cautious with new people, and he needs time to decide that someone is safe. He will require more than one meeting and a person willing to let trust develop at his pace. But once you make it into the Topaz Circle of Trust?Congratulations. You have yourself one incredibly loyal, goofy, snuggly best friend.Topaz doesn’t need a house full of people or pets. He’s looking for his person—someone who will give him consistency, help build his confidence, laugh at his antics, take him on his walks, supervise the snack negotiations, and love him exactly as he is.Give Topaz the chance to trust you, and you may just discover that being his favorite person is a pretty great place to be. The suggested adoption fee for Topaz is $315. Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ is a non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR are adopted with DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already spayed or neutered if old enough, or a voucher will be provided once the dog becomes of age. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home.
