Critter Details

Tyr (pronounced ‘Teer’) is a stunning 3-year-old Akita and Husky mix with the doofy exuberance of a puppy and the striking presence of a majestic adult dog.He does not do well in his shelter kennel. He has so much spirit and joy and it hurts his heart and ours every time he has to be put back inâ&#194&#128¦ Tyr is meant for so much more than kennel life in a shelter â&#194&#128&#194&#148 he loves chasing after his favorite Chuckit ball and splashing in water like a happy baby. We think he would make an incredible adventure buddy for someone who enjoys hikes and exploring nature. Tyr is also a dream for anyone who enjoys brushing out those husky clumps of hair in the summer! Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s cooperative whenever our volunteers take time during walks to pick out his tufts but heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d really appreciate a real brushing session! Tyr has shown friendly interest in other dogs on walks so we think he has potential to coexist with another well-matched dog. We havenâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t seen him around cats. He enjoys meeting new people and greets adults with enthusiasm. He hasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t spent time with small children and may be too big and bouncy for little ones who are easily knocked over.If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for an active and endlessly lovable companion, Tyr is waiting to meet you.
