Veronica is a sweet, curious, and playful young kitty who has truly blossomed during her time in the shelter. While sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s full of personality now, that wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t always the case. Veronica came to us as a stray after being caught in a live trap, and we suspect she may not have had many positive experiences with people before arriving here. Because of that, she needs a little time and patience when meeting new people â&#194&#128&#194&#148 but watching her learn to trust has been incredibly rewarding. We are so proud of how far Veronica has come. Once she feels safe and comfortable, she shows off her gentle and affectionate side. She loves toys of all kinds and has had so much fun discovering the joys of catnip, scratch posts, and wet food. When sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s really content, Veronica will happily flop over for pets and soak up affection. Her favorite spot for scratches is usually her cheeks, and she always remains incredibly gentle while interacting. Because new environments can feel overwhelming for her, Veronica will need a patient home willing to let her adjust at her own pace. We imagine she would transition best by starting out in a smaller, quiet space like a bathroom or spare bedroom before gradually exploring the rest of the home. Giving her the time and space to build confidence will go a long way in helping her feel secure. Veronica is looking for a special family â&#194&#128&#194&#148 one that understands that trust takes time and that the best relationships are often the ones built slowly. In return, we know sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll reward her people with sweet companionship, quiet affection, and the joy of watching her continue to grow into the happy, playful cat she was always meant to be!
