Meet Waldo — our one-of-a-kind survivor  Waldo is a handsome 1-year-old Pitt-Heeler mix with a heart of gold and a story of strength. This gentle soul has been through more than most — he’s a distemper survivor, which left him with some neurological quirks and a little extra wobble (dance prance) in his step. But what really sets him apart isn’t what he’s been through… it’s how much love he still has to give.  Once a likely feral dog, Waldo’s world has been scary and unpredictable — but he’s learning what it means to feel safe, one day and one treat at a time. He’s still shy with strangers, but with his foster, he’s a total goofball: jogging everywhere he goes, prancing through the house, and proudly hogging every blanket and fuzzy pillow he can find.  Waldo is looking for a very special person — maybe that’s you? He needs a calm, patient, and loving home where safety and routine come first. Someone who:  Feels rewarded by earning trust, not instant affection  Can provide a secure yard and careful handling (he will bolt if scared — he earned his name that way!)  Understands that treats = love in Waldo’s world  Enjoys cozy nights in and slow progress that leads to a lifetime bond Waldo enjoys other dogs and could thrive with a confident canine buddy. Cats? Waldo LOVES cats, even if they don't always understand him. He may never be the dog who greets every stranger or walks perfectly at heel, but he’ll be your dog — loyal, silly, tender, and true.
