Name: Wrigley       Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age:  4 years as of February 2026       SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  71 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  Rural shelter – needs a forever home in the DC area to escape!   All about Wrigley:   Wrigley is a Very Good Boy who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, to know where he belongs. He is well out of the puppy yips and in his prime as an adult, and he’s a great dog! This is what shelter staff say about him:’Wrigley is our gentle giant! Everyone who has met him has loved his 70+ pounds of happiness and attentiveness to humans. (People see him; people smile at him.) He was found as a stray on a country road, ribs protruding, with almost no meat on his bones. Despite very clearly not being fed properly, he always took food/treats gently from our hands.   Since being found, Wrigley has gained some much-needed weight and is quite the handsome fella! He always has a sunny personality and often seems to be smiling with his soft eyes. He enjoys going for leisurely strolls and frolicking in the yard. And balls! Wrigley has been very respectful with other dogs and plays well. Some dogs have been intimidated by his size and he tried to invite them to play with play bows. He will also invite your attention by laying a big paw on you.   Wrigley definitely loves being in your lap – so he’s hoping for a home with an extra comfy sofa big enough for both of you!  Or, you can snuggle with him on his bed! This super-sized stunning boy is truly someone’s dream dog.’   What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side?
