Meet Yoshi &#194&#150 Official Diamond Dog with a Heart of Gold Hi there! I’m Yoshi, a 5-year-old German Shepherd with a big heart, gentle soul, and a serious love for the good life &#194&#151 especially when it includes my favorite thing: my people. I’ve been patiently searching for my forever home, and as of February 11, 2026, I’ve officially reached 90 days as a shelter resident, which means I’m now part of the Diamond Dog Club. While the title sounds fancy (and I am pretty fancy), what it really means is I’ve been waiting a little longer than most dogs to find my perfect match. And I just know they’re out there. I came to RAC after my previous owner could no longer care for me, but I’ve handled the transition like a champ. I was raised around kids and farm life and have even peacefully coexisted with outdoor cats. I enjoy the simple things &#194&#151 hanging out with my people, going for walks, exploring, and soaking up affection whenever it’s offered. When it comes to other dogs, I’m a bit particular. I don’t do well with male dogs, and while I might get along with the right female friend, a meet and greet would be needed to make sure everyone feels comfortable and set up for success. Honestly though, I’d be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one-and-only. I’m neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations, including rabies. I did test heartworm positive, but thanks to the generous support of Rockwall PAWS, my treatment will be provided at little to no cost to my adopter, and the staff will walk you through everything you need to know. And here’s some extra good news: since I’m now a Diamond Dog, my adoption fee has been reduced to just $75, making it even easier for my forever family to find me. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
