Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Zane #3 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Zane #3 | 12-Week-Old Lab Mix | Gentle Snuggle Buddy with a Sunny Coat Zane is a 12-week-old Lab mix weighing 14 pounds, with a soft yellow-and-white coat and the sweetest, most soulful expression. He is a calm, gentle, and easygoing puppy who combines playful energy with an impressive ability to settle and snuggle. He is starting from scratch with housetraining and is currently working on frequent potty breaks and lots of praise for going outside. He does not yet signal when he needs to go, so he will need consistency and patience as he learns. Zane is also working on crate training. He goes in with treats or encouragement and may whine briefly before settling. He has been crated with another dog in the home for 3–4 hours and does well after some initial fussing. He will need time to adjust to being without his sibling, but he shows all the signs of adapting nicely. Zane has been wonderful with dogs of all sizes, from 10 to 75 pounds. He is submissive, friendly, and a total sweetheart. He has also had positive interactions with cats and has been amazing with children of all ages. He truly loves everyone and has no preference between men or women. If you sit near him, he will likely crawl into your lap and fall asleep, often resting his head on you in the most endearing way. He already knows “sit” and “come,” is food and toy motivated, and responds well to structure and gentle redirection. His energy level is a nice medium — he’s content with a couple of play sessions or short walks each day and then happily relaxes. He enjoys toys, chew bones, fetch, car rides, water play, and would likely grow into a wonderful hiking or adventure buddy as he gets older. Zane’s ideal home is an active family who will continue his training, provide plenty of love and attention, and include him in everyday life. He is a soft, sweet, gentle puppy who has all the makings of an incredible family companion.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
