Zorro’s story started in a car lot in Pacheco, where he was born in early October. By the time he was rescued in February, he’d already learned to be cautious—but it didn’t take long for him to discover just how good indoor life can be. Now, at 8 months old, he’s all about cozy naps, fun toys, dependable meals, and, of course, his beloved Temptations treats. Zorro may be a little shy at first in a new space or with new people—but give him a few days (and a few treats!), and he’ll show you who he really is. Once he feels safe, he enjoys scratches under the jaw, strokes along his back where he arches and purrs deeply. He doesn’t like hands approaching from overhead, and sometimes gets a little anxious and will batt, but without nails. I think it’s a residual of surviving the first four months of his life, his caution kept him alive. He is amazing with other kitties!!!! He’s been in homes with two alpha females, who don’t always appreciate other cats, but his respect of them won them over. He’s very tolerant of the baby kitten in his ‘kitty bedroom’ that likes to attack his tail and bite his ankles, and will groom them and let them curl up beside him to sleep. He’s a very good foster-brother.  Zorro would do best in a home with a playful feline friend or a person who can spend meaningful time with him—he thrives on gentle companionship. Having left his outdoor beginnings behind, Zorro is more than ready for a calm, loving indoor home where he can feel safe and truly settled.
