How to Adopt Me: Contact us at HPHS@Ymail.com and ask for an ADOPTION APPLICATION Zorro is the most neurotic of 16 kitties whose owner died in April. He had never been anywhere but the single wide when rescued, not even to the vet. We are trying hard to figure out this little guy! He has some food and environmental sensitivities. We are minimizing his exposure to cotton & biotin (vitamin B3), for example. His coat is much improved, compared to his tattered look on surrender when he was overgrooming, pulling out tufts of fur. He also demonstrates symptoms of separation anxiety: lashing out at weaker cats, over grooming & vocalizing when alone. He also emits a snarky/croaking sound, especially after grooming. On the positive side, Zorro is not physically clingy, to date has not harmed any household items, nor has he ever awoken foster mom (like some cats have done with a claw to the nose!) He does not dash out the door, play the trip hazard game, nor hide from new people. Zorro is very personable, recognizes his name, behaves well off lead (as long as there are no cats to attack) & is very comfortable RV camping, responsibly handling indoor/outdoor access without incident. He will be fine in a solo cat household or with dogs. His adopter must respect his dependent nature & be willing to provide the stability & company he craves. Zorro is exiled to an RV at foster care, after bullying the family cats multiple times. Zorro needs a permanent home ASAP. We are open to a trial placement. His adoption fee is only $40 because of these complexities. To meet Zorro, please text or call 530-338-1222. HPHS supports spay/neutering of all pets. Adopt from us and your new pet is spayed or neutered. They are up to date with their shots as well. Discount spay/neuter vouchers are also available at the Second Chance Thrift Store. Income verification is necessary tp receive the voucher.
